ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (IoT and Cyber Security Including Blockchain Technology) at ADCET offers a B.Tech. program with a 60-seat intake, introduced in the academic year 2021–2022. This program focuses on equipping students with expertise in IoT, Cyber Security, and Blockchain Technology, addressing the growing reliance on these cutting-edge technologies in modern society. The curriculum is designed to provide students with operational and functional knowledge of these domains, preparing them for industry demands.
The Internet of Things (IoT) connects sensors and actuators to computing systems, enabling monitoring and management of connected machines and objects. IoT opens vast opportunities across industries, including telecom, software development, and IoT applications. Students in this program learn about these technologies, positioning them for careers in emerging business models and applications.
Cyber Security focuses on protecting the integrity of networks, programs, and data from threats. By integrating Blockchain Technology, the program enhances data security through immutable data sources and trusted sharing services. Blockchain secures IoT devices and networks, improving trust and traceability. The curriculum includes fundamental cryptographic concepts, limitations of blockchain, and distributed system principles.
This interdisciplinary program also explores IoT applications in smart infrastructure across industries such as agriculture, healthcare, automotive, smart cities, homes, transportation, and more. By studying these technologies, students are prepared to address real-world challenges and build innovative solutions in IoT, Cyber Security, and Blockchain Technology.
